Board the "Peconic Star II" for a cruise on the waters of eastern Long Island. Learn about the unique maritime history of the area including that of Plum Island. Hear recent findings about the Revolutionary War history of the area, and see where the first engagement between British and Continental troops took place. We will follow the routes of American and British war ships in their 1812 - 1814 naval engagements. See the Orient Point, Plum Island, Little Gull Island, Race Rock and Long Beach Bar lighthouses close up, and hear about their history.
The "Peconic Star II" provides better close-up views of these lighthouses than any other cruise vessel. Maritime and lighthouse history narration included.
